5 Moisturizers for Oily Skin I Love

You need these 5 moisturizers for oily skin and I genuinely love these products. Wait… Oily skin and moisturizers? Well yeah, you read it right! Moisturizers are not meant just for dry skin. Every skin type has its story.

Oily skin needs hydration, no matter if it is summer, winter, or monsoon. If you have oily skin and you are not moisturizing it, it’ll become dehydrated. To overcompensate, it’ll make more oil and your face will look shiny (& you definitely don’t want that…)

So below is a list of 5 moisturizers that I have tried personally and I found them useful. I hope you’ll find them useful as well. The links shared below are affiliate links.

Why is my skin oily?

If your skin looks shiny, you have oily skin. But you are asking, “Why?” Each skin pore has a sebaceous gland that produces natural oil to keep our skin soft and hydrated. The oil is called sebum. When sebum is produced in excess, the skin surface becomes greasy and the face looks shiny.

There are several factors responsible for oily skin. It includes the environment, genetics, mental health, diet, hormones, etc. There are certain factors you cannot control such as genetics. But there are steps you can take to ensure better skin like the use of the right product for your skin.

Benefits of moisturizers for oily skin

If you are also wondering, “Why should I use moisturizer for my oily skin?”, “Do oily face need moisturizer?”, here are your answers

  1. Moisturizers hydrate your skin by restoring the lost moisture because of cleansing, which reduces excess sebum production.
  2. Your pores get clogged and cause acne. Moisturizing help unclog pores and control excess sebum production. This also creates a protective layer on your face.
  3. A good moisturizer battles signs of aging. As you moisturize your skin religiously, it’ll not appear dehydrated but smooth and supple. This delays the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, etc.
