Winter is here. That means now comes the struggle to keep your skin hydrated and soft. The cold air takes away the natural moisture content from the skin and leaves the skin feeling dry and flaky.
So, now your skincare morning routine should be according to the season. Let us try to know five best practices you must do daily to keep your skin soft and glowing in this dry winter.

Cleansing
Since it’s winter, your products have to be different from what you used in the summer. The skin needs more hydration and extra care to avoid dryness and flakiness in this dry season.
Avoid foam-based face wash. These tend to take away the extra oil along with the natural oil on the skin.
Instead, use gentle facial cleansers that are hydrating and also retain the natural moisture of your skin. Use lukewarm water to clean the pore’s dirt and then cold water to reduce the pore size.
Toning
Toning is the next important but a most under-rated step. Why under-rated?? Because not everybody feels the need for this, though it is a very very crucial step that we must not ignore.
Toners help in maintaining the pH of the skin. If you use toner on a daily basis, it binds the moisture in the skin and maintains skin elasticity. Toners also fight acne.
We know if the size of the skin pore is big, it can develop bacteria in it. So, toners reduce the size of the pores and help reduce the oil build-up from the skin. This secures the skin from future breakouts.
Toning is very important. Just make sure that the toner you are going for, is alcohol-free.
Serum
Do you want soft and radiant skin this winter?? Add serum to your skincare regime.
Serums are important because of the presence of active ingredients which are more in percentage as compared to lotions. These active ingredients make our skin glow.
The serum adds an extra layer of hydration to your skin. Since it is water or emulsion-based, it is lightweight and penetrates easily into your skin, without making the skin feel heavy.
It strengthens the skin barrier to help the skin guard itself from the cold environment. Serums rich in vitamin C and antioxidants can help in reducing wrinkles, fine lines, pigmentation and can make skin look healthy and glowy.
You should always wait for about 5 mins after Serum application to allow it to absorb in the skin completely.
Under Eye Cream
The skin around our eyes is thinner and more delicate than the skin on the other parts of our body. Since they lack oil glands, they are more prone to dryness.
The common issues that we can have around our eyes are dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines. So, it is important to moisturize this part of our face on q daily basis to keep the bright and healthy.
Many people use their regular moisturizers under their eyes, but not every time it suits them and they might feel irritation and inflammation in their eyes. So, invest in a good under-eye cream.
Moisturizer
This is something we all know that moisturizer is a must-have in winters. So yes, after serum, apply moisturizer to give more hydration to your skin.
While face serum was hydrating your skin, moisturizer seals in the effect, thus giving a more supple, fresh, and dehumidified look. Always wait for about 5 min after the serum application, and then apply the moisturizer.
Sunscreen
It’s winter now, that doesn’t mean we don’t need sunscreen. Because UV rays are still there, and you still have to protect your skin from those harmful rays.
Sunscreen not just protects you from sunburn, but also restores the moisture levels of your skin because cold air tends to evaporate the moisture from our skin making it dry and flaky.
This way your skin looks young, bright, and healthy.
